Health care has been changing from a disease-centered model to a patient centered mode. Efforts to promote patient-centered care should consider helping patients to be more active in their health care. Patient safety and quality of health care has been an important matter to Nursing education and research in the last years. Technological innovations on nursing education such as the use of simulation and faculty competencies to use them have been an issue in most Schools and Colleges of Nursing in the region. Nursing has a key role to promote quality of care and safety to patients in any health service.
